The global wind-power capacities will more than double by 2016 (Bloomberg).

In 2012, there were an estimated 225,000 wind turbines worldwide and growing at fast rate. In fact, wind energy is the fastest growing alternative energy sector, growing faster than solar and all other renewable energy sectors.

The wind energy outlook shows that wind power could supply up to 12% of global electricity by 2020. By 2030, wind power could provide more than 20% of global electricity supply.

Plasma Wind Technologies, Inc. plans to assist companies that own wind farms by helping them retrofit pre-existing wind turbines with our plasma actuator technology as well as to work with Original Equipment Manufacturers to integrate the technology into new equipment.

While large wind farms will be a primary focus in the Company’s marketing objectives, Plasma Wind’s technology may also fit with other markets such as small and medium wind farms and turbines purchased by homeowners.

As shown in the chart below from the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), the global cumulative installed wind capacity has grown at 29% CAGR from 1996-2012.
